Time to Think Programmes

These courses are not about learning a technique. They are about experiencing something — a quality of attention that changes how you think, how you listen, and how you lead. The approach is Nancy Kline's Thinking Environment. The teaching is Mitzi Wyman's, drawn from many years of applying it across sectors and at the most senior levels of leadership.

Two starting points

There are two entry points into this work, depending on where you want to apply it. Both courses are complete and valuable in themselves — and each is the first step for those who want to go on to qualify.

Mitzi Wyman with Nancy Kline
"Mitzi inspires me, over and over again. When I need hope for humanity, I turn to her. She reaches into the core of both the good in society and the causes of its pain. She understands what it takes to transform a situation, a team, an organisation into the finest version of itself. She manages to blend humility with confidence, detail with scope, leadership with autonomy. Her expertise and her warmth are compelling. I trust her completely. And I am grateful for her in this world."
Nancy Kline, President, Time to Think

A short insight into what the Thinking Environment actually does — and why it changes things.

Thinking Environment Foundation Course

Do you find yourself rushing from one meeting to the next, with barely time to draw breath — let alone think about the core and critical questions that really matter?

Do you long for time and space to think?

This two-day course introduces you to the Thinking Environment — Nancy Kline's approach to igniting the finest thinking in any gathering. You learn the Ten Components and the core building blocks: Thinking Pairs, Dialogue, Rounds and Open Discussion. You learn by being inside it, discovering the wisdom, compassion and courage that is available to you and those around you when people are truly listened to.

Thinking Partnership Course

Do you want time and space to think, free from the pressures of the everyday?

Do you want to liberate your own independent thinking — and create a deeply held space for others to do the same?

A deeply personal course, strictly limited to six participants. Over three days (in a 2+1 format) you will learn the Thinking Partnership Session — a uniquely powerful process for liberating the human mind. Through generative Attention and Incisive Questions, this practice produces breakthrough independent thinking, where people can say what they really think and others actually listen. The gap between the two days and the third creates space to bring your real experience back into the room.

"The Thinking Partnership Course was one of the best learning experiences I have had in the last 30 years of training. It creates an environment where you have the luxury of being listened to in a way that allows you to go on a profound journey of discovery about who you are and where you want to be."
Professor Deborah Christie

"She does not hand out accreditations until she is sure you are ready to fly."
Fleur McDonnell, Director, Winning Leadership
"I think we often feel as though our voice isn't heard and people don't value our ideas. Mitzi taught us about Nancy Kline's Time to Think approach and helped us work out how we could create the right environment for everyone to feel confident, prepared and supported to think and speak up."
Janet Thornley RN MSc ACP, GPN Strategic Lead, BLMK Integrated Care System
"How many times are you invited to a meeting with a range of leaders where you're asked to leave power, wealth and status outside the door? It was a fantastic experience — a safe space to be open and consider a range of views on some fundamental issues impacting on people's lives. The dialogic approach provides a new way to do business. The public and private sectors alike should learn from this approach as it could change the dynamics of business and motivate people."
Gillian Fawcett, former Head of Global, CIPFA
